Two stabbed over money dispute in Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: A 29-year-old man Shabbir Bagban and his friend, Azruddin Momin, were attacked with sharp weapons by one Sohil Qureshi over monetary dispute. About two months ago, Qureshi had asked for money from Bagban for buying a mobile.
Bagban had refused to give money to Qureshi which had led to heated arguments. Qureshi had allegedly threatened him with dire consequences and had asked Bagban to arrange for money.
On Friday, Bagban was standing near a grocery shop in Fatehwadi area of Vejalpur when Qureshi reached there and demanded money. Bagban called up his friend Azruddin Momin and asked Qureshi to wait till he comes to the spot.
According to the complainant, as Momin reached there, Qureshi got agitated and whipped out a knife and attacked him and Momin.
The complainant, who is currently admitted to Civil Hospital, has received over 20 stitches in the stomach. Momin also received injuries in the stomach and legs.
On Saturday, Bagban lodged a complaint with Vejalpur police under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) against Qureshi.
