‘7 systems triggered rain during this year’s monsoon’
Bhubaneswar: Seven low pressure systems formed over the Bay of Bengal triggered major rainfall from July to September during monsoon in the state, the IMD said on Friday. The state received 4% excess rain during the period, it said. Monsoon withdrew from the state on October 21. Several parts of the state experienced above normal rainfall during the peak monsoon months of July and August. The IMD said the state received 32% excess rain in August due to the formation of three depressions. tnn
