Cadbury is being targeted on Twitter by some users over its advertisement released during the Diwali season.

The Cadbury advertisement shows a man who sells lamps for a living and is extremely poor. His name in the advertisement is Damodar, which some people claimed was a take on the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's father, Damodardas Modi. They claimed the ad was a dig at the PM's family background

They also started a hashtag #BoycottCadbury, and a tweet by user Prachi Sadhvi, president of the Bhagwa Kranti Sena, went viral with more than six hundred likes and over 360 retweets.

"Have you carefully observed Cadbury chocolate's advertisement on TV channels? The shopless poor lamp seller is Damodar. This is done to show someone with PM Narendra Modi's father's name in poor light. Chaiwale ka baap diyewala. shame on cadbury Company," her tweet claimed
