DHARWAD: Congress has alleged nepotism in the disbursement of compensation to the victims of rain damage in Dharwad Rural assembly segment. Speaking here on Saturday, Congress leaders Arvind Egangoudar and Eshwar Shivalli said scores of houses have been damaged in Dharwad taluk due to the heavy rain during August-October. “But the victims who incurred damage have not been given compensation that is due to them. To release compensation for house damage, the government has categorised them under A, B and C categories. However 86 victims, whose damaged houses must have been in B category, are listed under C category because of which they received less compensation,” they said, adding victims, who are
BJP supporters, are included in A category.
The officials, bowing to the pressure from an MLA, have changed the list, they charged. The Congressmen urged the DC to conduct fresh survey of house damage and announce compensation as per it. tnn
