Nashik: Man with criminal record murdered in Ambad, 2 held

NASHIK: A 26-year-old man with a criminal record was murdered in the Ambad area of the city on Friday around 11 pm following a tiff with two people.
The deceased has been identified as Akshay Jadhav.
After a compliant was filed, the Ambad police arrested two suspects — identified as Tanmay Gosavi and Akash Salunkhe — in connection with the murder.
The police said two suspects Gosavi and Akash were seated near the primary health centre in Mahalaxmi Nagar of Ambad at around 11 pm when Akshay and some of his friends came to the spot. An argument broke out between them after which Gosavi and Salunke hit Jadhav on his head with some sharp weapon.
Jadhav ran into the balcony of a house nearby to save his life. However, they chased him and hit him again with a sharp weapon and a stone.
Fearing for their lives, the witnesses to the incident did not attempt to save Jadhav. As soon as the police received the information, they rushed to the incident spot and took the injured Jadhav to a hospital. However, he was declared brought dead.
A huge force of police arrived at the incident spot including senior police inspector Bhagirath Deshmukh, Srikant Nimbalkar and others. With the help of the informers, the accused were detained within a matter of a few hours.
Jadhav had many cases registered against him with different police stations and owing to his criminal tendency he was also externed from the city last year. Earlier this month, Jadhav and three others were arrested in a case of house break-in registered with the Ambad police station.
Police had also recovered cash of Rs 6.50 lakh from the sale of the 320 gram of gold jewellery they had stolen. He was released on bail on October 8.
