After a rocky start, New Zealand came into the game well. Glenn Phillips played an absolute blinder of an innings. this has to be one of the top innings in T20I world cup history. His team was in trouble when he came in he started slowly but kept accelerating as innings went on. He along with Daryl Mitchell build a decent partnership in the middle which enabled them to post a decent total. Sri Lanka on the other hand after starting well dropped a few catches in the middle and gave away easy boundaries and bowled unnecessary no-balls. This is a decent total on the board let us see what Sri Lankans can do.
Brilliant innings by Glenn Phillips scoring 100 out of 60 balls. This is the second 100 in the tournament after Rillie Rossouw's ton against Bangladesh at the same venue.
Glenn Phillips pummeled Mahesh Theekhsna in the 17th over. Theekshana gave away 14 runs in the over. On six over covers and the next one got even better when he clubbed one straight back over the bowler's head.
