Thane: Man flashes countrymade revolver on developer; booked

THANE: A history-sheeter was booked for attempt to murder by Kalwa police for flashing a countrymade revolver on a man over a land dispute.
The police said that the victim, a developer Santosh Patil, 48 had a land dispute with the alleged accused identified as Mahesh Chauhan.
It was on October 19, the victim came to Gholai nagar where he had a plot of 5.5 guntha to survey it. The accused intercepted him with his two accomplices and started verbally abusing him stating that the said lands belonged to him and that he is going to construct a structure on it.
During the heated argument, he flashed a countrymade revolver and pointed it at his head and warned that he would shoot him down.
However the victim brushed aside the accused and escaped from the spot, the police said.
The police said that the onlookers with a fear of life left the place and the accused started shouting that if someone tries to help him he will shoot them down as well.
Fearing for his life the victim started running for his life and managed to escape from the small lanes of the area.
The police said that he reached his home and narrated the entire incident to his wife and did not venture out for the fear of his life that he could be shot down by the accused.
Somehow, the man gathered courage and his friends and acquaintance told him to lodge the complaint with the Kalwa police station.
Subsequently, the Kalwa police registered a case of attempt to murder , physical assaualt with comman intention of the Indian penal code and section 3 and 25 of the Arms act.
Further investigation is underway in the case, said police.
