JAIPUR: Interfering in a fight among two cousins proved fatal for their 86-year-old grandfather who was beaten to death at Sanvlod village under Singhana police station area of Jhunjhunu on Thursday. Both the brothers were boozing together and entered into a spat.
The old man came to broker peace and was killed. According to police,
Amit Kumar and Manish Kumar were boozing together around 12.30am on Thursday.
"Suddenly they started screaming at each other and entered got into a fight. First, Manish's father Subash came to resolve the issue but was pushed back by them. Then Hosiyar Singh, grandfather of the two cousins, came and asked them to stop. Instead of cooling down, both the cousins attacked their grandfather and beat him with iron rods and batons," said an officer of Singhana police station on Friday.
Hosiyar Singh was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries on Friday. "We have registered a case of murder against the two cousins under Section 302 of IPC. Amit Kumar was working with Jhalwar police but he was suspended for laxity in work. His cousin Manish is an alcoholic and jobless," the officer added.
