Woman alleges police inaction
Thiruvananthapuram: The Museum police have come under scathing criticism due to the alleged inaction from their part in ensuring justice to a woman who was sexually harassed by a man near the Museum on Wednesday morning.
Despite filing a case soon after the incident, the police could not trace the suspect so far.

The woman later registered a case with the deputy police commissioner, Ajith Kumar.
Now, the police have drawn an image of the suspect.
The 36-year-old woman is a doctor and she lives near the Museum. The woman reaches the Museum every day for a morning walk for the last two months.
On Wednesday, seeing the gate of the Museum near the police station closed, she moved to the other gate near the corporation office. However, a man tried to hold her. When she resisted by making noise, the man escaped from the spot.
In the CCTV visuals, the man was seen jumping the Museum wall and the woman chased him. However, she fell down in between and the man fled the scene.
“I told the police and security guards that he mustn’t have escaped. However, they were not willing to search for him. When I asked them to check the CCTV footage, they told me that all CCTV cameras are not functioning and only a few have backup. It has been three days since I filed the case, but police have done nothing to trace the person,” said the woman.
The Museum police said that they have registered a case under sections 354-A and 364 of the IPC against the suspect and started an investigation.
Police are trying to trace the number of the car in which he came.
