Jharkhand: Scolded by teachers, boy dies by suicide in Giridih

BOKAROL A Class X student of a private school died by suicide at his home after he was scolded by his school teachers at Bagodar block of Giridih on Thursday.
The deceased, identified as Rakesh Kumar Mahto (15), was a resident of Dondlo village in Bagodar and a student of Nehru Public School.
"He went to school as usual on Thursday, but returned home early. He claimed he was beaten up for being late to the assembly and was also asked to come back home. In the evening, we found him hanging in his room," the deceased's brother Dugalal Mahto said.
Bagodar SDPO Noushad Alam said a three-page suicide note was recovered from the deceased's room in which he accused the school management of harassment.
"A complaint has been filed by Lochan Mahto, the deceased's father," Alam said.
