VARANASI: The court of civil judge, senior division (fast-track court) on Friday fixed November 29 as the next date of hearing of a petition filed by Jyotishpeeth Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, seeking worship of the purported ‘shivlinga’ claimed to have been found in the ablution pond of Gyanvapi mosque.
The court also asked both parties to submit their written statements before the next hearing.
The petition filed by the seer was countered by the Anjuman Intezamia Masajid — the Gyanvapi mosque management committee. The AIM also prayed to the court, seeking time for filing an objection in the case, which was accepted.
According to additional district government counsel (civil) Sulabh Prakash, the court has fixed November 29 as the next date of hearing in this case.
