LUCKNOW: Over 15,700-km roads have been relaid in UP and 47% of potholes have been repaired.
Reviewing the works carried out by the PWD, cabinet minister
Jitin Prasada on Friday noon sought details of the progress made by the department till October 25.
Prasad also wanted to know the damage caused to the road network, spanning over three lakh km, during the monsoon.
In all, about 60,000 km of roads had developed cracks or potholes that needed immediate attention. Among them 28,000 km has been repaired by the department, while the remaining work would be finished by year-end.
The minister also sought progress of various railway overbridges being executed by funds provided by the ministry of roads transport and highways and also the ones being financed by NABARD.
