Nagpur: BJP’s Nagpur unit is blaming the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government for Tata-Airbus project being shifted to Gujarat, saying it could have been a major boost to Mihan.
Arvind Gajbhiye, BJP’s district (Nagpur rural) president, said, “The erstwhile MVA government led by Uddhav Thackeray failed to do due dilligence for the project. They have undone everything which the BJP had tried to do for the economic development of the state.”
He added that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s concept of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan, this project had taken off. “The contract between Airbus and Space SA Spain was approved by the government. A MoU was signed and Ratan Tata also announced on the same day that the Ministry of Defense has given the green light to this project, which is being built jointly as per the agreement between Airbus and Tata. Despite this, the then MVA government neither sent letter nor did any follow-up to bring this project to Maharashtra,” said Gajbhiye.
As opposition parties in Maharashtra protested against the project’s ‘departure’ to Gujarat, Gajbhiye said it was all part of political gimmicks. “These leaders should not engage in mere misleading politics when they are aware of the facts. If Thackeray wants to talk about the issues, he should publish one letter written to Tata-Airbus. This project would have helped thousands of local youths to get employment had it come up in Mihan,” said Gajbhiye and added, “In fact, this is the second failure of the MVA government after the Vedanta-Foxconn project.”
