Karnataka: Student slips into lake, drowns

MADIKERI: A BCom student accidentally fell into a lake and drowned on Wednesday. Twenty-year-old Chasmika was studying in Murnad College. She was the daughter of Dakshayini Kushalappa, a member of Konanjageri Parane Gram Panchayat in Kirundadu village .
Chasmika, who was going to tie the cattle in the field, was walking on the side of the lake to reach the field. She accidentally slipped and fell into the lake, and died by drowing.
MLA KG Bopaiah visited the place and met the family. A team of youth, Abdul Razak, Abdul Majeed, Shamir, from Napoklu, managed to retrieve the dead body from the lake. Napoklu superintendent of police Sadashiva has registered a case.
