Benchmark indices registered their second straight weekly gain on Friday, boosted by energy and automobile stocks and as a fall in US Treasury yields made riskier assets more appealing.
The NSE Nifty 50 index advanced 0.28% to 17,786.80 at close, and the S&P BSE Sensex ended 0.34% higher to 59,959.85.

Broader markets, however, languished in trade, with Nifty Midcap 100 ending lower by over 0.5%. Maruti Suzuki, RIL, Apollo Hospital, NTPC and Hero Motocorp led the list of Nifty gainers today.

Shares of IDBI Bank ended lower by over 1% at Rs 44.45 per share after the divestment in the lender gets delayed as the date to submit any query has been extended to November 10 from the earlier deadline of October 28.

Shares of the beauty and fashion start-up ended lower by over 6% at Rs 983.55 per share. The stock is seeing selling pressure as its anchor lock-in expiry nears.
