Kerala: As ministers keep mum, leaders step up attack on governor AM Khan
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As ministers curbed their opinions of governor AM Khan, other political leaders stepped up their attack over Khan's demand to remove finance minister KN Balagopal from the state cabinet. Khan is also moving ahead with the process to oust vice-chancellors.
If some idiot thinks that he is all powerful, what can be done? The governor thinks that he is the one who runs all the universities in state. Will he demit his office if Kerala says it has withdrawn its pleasure in his case? Asked CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran. He and his party, CPI, had said that the governor's post was unwarranted.
CPM state secretary MV Govindan said that Kerala is gearing up for a massive public protest against the actions and designs of governor Khan. "He cannot say that he won't sign government files. Such tactics won't find takers in Kerala," he said.
Former finance minister TM Thomas Isaac said Khan was trying to act like Divan Sir CP by declaring that everything should work according to his pleasure only. Meanwhile, Balagopal and law minister P Rajeeve refused to respond when asked about the tussle between the governor and the government.
