SE Asia yatra to pay homage to Netaji
Guwahati: For the first time since Independence, the INA Heritage Route in South East Asia Yatra was started on October 15 by a group of 39 delegates who visited Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Chonburi in Thailand and other places related to the INA in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, among others, to spot the Indian Independence League (IIL) secretariat and other places related to IIL and the INA
The yatra is a homage to INA veterans and Netaji and also to celebrate the 80th year of Azad Hind Sarkar Divas.
Coordinator of this yatra, Dr Subhajit Choudhury, said it was organised by Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti Assam with the consent of Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana in collaboration with Indian Association of Thailand, Netaji Welfare Foundation Malaysia.
During the yatra, two international conventions — “Retrospection of Legacy of INA” & “Netaji in Thailand” — were held in Bangkok and another one was organised by Netaji Welfare Foundation in Kuala Lumpur attended by more than 500 delegates.
While narrating the objectives and mission of the INA Heritage Route Yatra, Dr Choudhury stated about the exploration and opportunity on socio-cultural, socio-political and economic pursuit among the people of these countries.
