M R Baiju to be new PSC chairman

Thiruvananthapuram: The cabinet on Wednesday decided to recommend the name of M R Baiju as the chairman of the Kerala Public Service Commission.
The cabinet move comes in the wake of the tenure of the present chairman, M K Sakeer, coming to an end on October 30.
Presently a member of the PSC, Baiju was formerly a professor of department of electronics and communication at the College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET). A BTech graduate from the CET in 1988 in electronics and communication, he did his MTech from the Indian Institute of Science in 1997 in electronics design and technology. He also holds a PhD in ‘power electronics’ from IISc, Bengaluru, for which he also won the gold medal and best thesis award.
He is also a recipient of IETE Bimal Bose award given to a person for outstanding original contribution in the field of Power Electronics, for the year 2016.
