Madurai: Cops chase down duo fleeing with cash bag

MADURAI: A duo, which stole a cash bag from a woman flower seller near Town Hall Road in Madurai city, were chased and caught by two policemen. At around 1.15pm on Monday, two men, identified as Abdul Sheikh and Arun from Villapuram, suddenly grabbed the woman’s cash bag and attempted to flee the spot.
However, the alarmed woman shouted for help. Two cops - Thideer Nagar police inspector Kasirajan and head constable Muthupandi - who were on rounds reacted quickly and chased the duo. Both men were caught and the bag was returned to the woman.
The incident was also caught on CCTV camera and the cops won praise from the public for their efforts. A case was registered against Sheikh and Arun.
