Jaipur: Doctor attacked by robbers dies in hospital

Jaipur: The 65-year-old doctor, who was attacked and robbed by suspects inside his house about a month ago, died during treatment at a hospital in Gurgaon on Wednesday.
ACP (Vaishali Nagar) Alok Kumar Saini said that Dr Mohammed IqbalBharti suffered from lung-related ailments and passed away. “We had arrested six accused in the case. Now, the police will also add IPC Section 376 (dacoity with murder) in the case against the accused,” he said.
The doctor’s former domestic help, identified as Annu, entered the house from the clinic on September 19 with three other men in the afternoon. The doctor was alone in the house.
After entering the house, the culprits started hitting the doctor. He resisted and was hit with iron rods and a screwdriver. After injuring him, the robbers locked him inside a washroom, went to the first floor, guided by domestic help, and started searching for cash and jewellery.
“He (doctor) was first admitted to a hospital in Jaipur,” Saini said.
