Jharkhand: Woman stabbed to death in Chas grocery shop

BOKARO: Nagma Khatoon (55), a resident of Haji Nagar area in Chas, died after being stabbed multiple times by an unidentified man at a grocery shop on Wednesday morning.
Chas police said Nagma had tried to dissuade a group of young men who were engaged in a heated argument with the owner of a grocery shop over the price of a few commodities. One of the youths pulled out a knife and stabbed her at multiple places, including on the back and neck. Khatoon’s two sons — Imtiaz Alam and Mumtaz Alam — came to her rescue, but they were also attacked, police added.
“Nagma and her two sons were grievously injured. They were taken to Sadar hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. The sons are unconscious due to blood loss and in a critical condition,” Mohammad Kaiser Afroz, the former ward councillor of Haji Nagar, told TOI.
“An FIR has been lodged. We have identified the accused and searches are on,” Chas SDPO Purushottam Singh said.
