97 pc phones used in country are made in India: Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar

Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar on October 26 said that over 97 per cent of mobile phones used in India are made in the country itself. “In 2014, over 92 pc of mobile phones used in India were imported, today over 97 per cent of mobile phones used in India are made in India. Today we export electronic devices worth $12 billion,” said Union MoS Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar at ORF event.
