Like Kota, any institute can set up centre in city coaching hub
Jaipur: After a shallow response from owners of educational coaching institutes to apply for space allotment at the upcoming coaching hub in Pratap Nagar, officials of Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) is all set to make the project residential in lines with Kota and woo coaching centres from other places of Rajasthan and rest of India as well.
RHB officials said in the first phase of the allotment process, the board had decided to allot 140 units of the hub. However, till September 30 (the last date of application), only 40 institutions applied for 60 units.
“The figure is not bad considering that we did not allow any institution beyond Jaipur city limits to apply till September. Now coaching centres across the state and even from other parts of the country can apply. We are getting huge responses from coaching centres from Kota and Sikar in Rajasthan, from Ghaziabad and Noida in UP and even from Mumbai as well. I believe it would be difficult to accommodate all once the second phase of accepting applications starts,” Pawan Arora, housing commissioner, told TOI.
The hub has a total built up area of 1.5 lakh square metre and is built on a land measuring around 67,000 square metre. It can accommodate around 50,000 to 60,000 students together. There are six types of units in this compound. While the smallest ones are of 1,588.06 square feet and cost Rs 67,23,700, the biggest ones are of 8,025.56 square feet and cost Rs 3,70,75,600.
As owners of the coaching centres had claimed earlier that the problem with this hub is the distance, RHB officials are making the hub as a residential one in line with Kota.
“Four plots in these projects would solely mean for residential purposes. There would be accommodations for paying guests, guest houses (for guardians) and hostels. In fact, considering that students from well-to-do families would take admission, we have kept provisions for 500 studio apartments in this compound. Such facilities have great demand among students at present. In all, it would be a one-of-its-kind educational facility in the country,” added Arora.
