Mysuru: Mayor Shivakumar on Tuesday said he will hold a discussion with heritage experts on conserving heritage buildings in the city.
He told reporters that the heritage structures are now facing problems due to excess rain. “After taking the suggestions from experts, conservation works will be taken up. Experts from the Indian Heritage Cities Network will visit the city and assess the heritage structures,” he said.
He added that a delegation will be taken to the chief minister seeking funds to conserve the heritage structures in the city. “Many buildings are in a dilapidated condition. If we lose these structures in the coming days, Mysuru may lose the heritage city tag,” he said. tnn
