NEW DELHI: The national capital has recorded 939 dengue cases in October so far, taking the total number of cases this year to 1,876, states a report released by Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Tuesday.
As per the report, out of the total 1,876 cases, 1,280 cases were recorded from the areas falling under the jurisdiction of the corporation and the remaining from other agencies like railways, New Delhi Municipal Council and Delhi Cantonment. Out of the total cases, 693 were reported in September.
No death due to dengue has been reported this year, while in 2021, the dengue had claimed 23 lives. Last year, the city saw one of its worst dengue outbreaks and maximum deaths due to the infection in the past few years.
Several measures are being taken by MCD to control the vector-borne diseases, civic officials claimed. The corporation has appealed to people and organisations to prevent water stagnation in and around their premises.
