GURUGRAM: As many as 20 calls alerting fire incidents were received by the fire department on Monday. A major fire broke out in a flat of a group housing society in Sohna's Sector 33, apparently due to a short circuit.
Similarly, a commercial shop in Ramprastha City, a township in Sector 37D, was gutted causing loss of about Rs 25 lakh. However, no injuries were reported in any of these incidents, an fire official said.
Gulshan Kalra, deputy director (technical), fire department said, "There were 20 incidents related to fire that were reported on Monday, most of which fell in the minor category. However, there are some incidents which were not related to crackers and primarily suspected to be caused due to short circuit." A flat on the second floor of Central Park Flower Valley in Sohna's Sector 33 was completely gutted on Monday
A fire also broke out in three mobile shops at Sector 56 market and another in a flat of a residential society in Sector 102.
