NEW DELHI: Senior IAS officer Amit Yadav of the 1991 batch of the AGMUT cadre was appointed the chairperson of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) on Tuesday.
Yadav had held several important assignments at both central and Delhi governments, including that of Director General of Foreign Trade. He had also served as counsellor in the permanent Mission of India, Geneva and as civil affairs officer at Kosovo.
He joined the service as the subdivisional magistrate in East Delhi district, and later served as deputy commissioner in south Delhi, commissioner of erstwhile east corporation, and secretary of land and building, revenue, and finance departments, chairman and MD of Delhi State Industrial Development Corporation. A graduate in chemistry, he had also completed LLB and MBA.
