NIO, Norwegian research council to tie up for ocean studies

Panaji: Representatives from the Research Council of Norway visited the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Dona Paula to explore potential bilateral collaborations in ocean research.
The possibilities of scientific collaboration between NIO and the Norwegian institutions were discussed in detail. It is suggested to have series of interactions in future to develop bilateral collaboration in mutually interested fields of ocean research.
In another tie-up, NIO and BITS Pilani, KK Birla, Goa signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop a long-term collaboration in the areas of education, training and research in the areas of biology, chemistry, marine instrumentation and high-performance computing.
