Tamil Nadu: Two men killed as speeding car hits scooter

COIMBATORE: Two men were killed when a speeding car rammed their scooter at Kullampalayam on Udumalpet-Palladam road on Monday.
The Kamanaickenpalayam police identified the deceased as M Arunkumar, 21, a motorcycle mechanic from Indira Colony at Sulthanpet, and A Dhanabal, 25, an employee of a banian company from Vavipalayam near Palladam in Tirupur district.
"They were travelling on the scooter on Monday afternoon, when the car coming from the opposite direction rammed their two-wheeler. The duo succumbed to their head injuries on the spot," a police officer said.
When alerted, the Kamanaickenpalayam police sent the dead bodies to the Palladam government hospital for postmortem and registered a case against car driver J Karthikeyan, of Neruperichal in Tirupur.
