HYDERABAD: While investigating a gaming app fraud, police uncovered the role of Taiwan national Chu Chun-Yu, who was arrested in connection with the 903 crore Chinese investment fraud, said additional commissioner of police (crimes) AR Srinivas.
He said they arrested Chu’s four Indian associates — Naga Prasad, Ram, Sagar and Srinivas — who are all residents of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh. They allegedly helped the key accused in arranging bank accounts and SIM cards used in the fraud.
When Naga Prasad lost 20 lakh, he came in contact with one Allen, the app’s organiser. “Allen told he cannot return the money but offered him a job, wherein he had to arrange bank accounts and SIM cards. Other accused who lost money, were also offered a salary of 60,000,” police said.tnn
