Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.72% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:04AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

TIINDIA(up 4.25 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.79 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 1.42 per cent), Tata Motors(up 1.33 per cent) and Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 1.03 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Balkrishna Industries(down 1.45 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.46 per cent), Bajaj Auto(down 0.38 per cent), Bosch(down 0.31 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.3 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.72 per cent at 12887.2 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 38.65 points at 17769.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 125.75 points at 59957.41.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of BHEL, PNB, , and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Varanium Cloud Ltd., Sonu ., , Maks Energy Solutions India Ltd. and Jay Jalaram Technologies Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Phantom Digital Effects Ltd., , , and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
