Mangaluru: D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadikari of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthla, through his preservation of Sanatan culture, has made several service-oriented works and also value-based changes in society. These are noble and exemplary works, said Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, Speaker of the Karnataka legislative assembly.
Kageri presided over the public felicitation programme organised on the occasion of the 55th Vardhanthyutsava of Heggade being anointed as the Dharmadikari of the kshetra.
“Our country will become Vishwa Guru through the leadership of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi and the social services of Heggade. PM Modi chose Heggade as the right candidate as Rajya Sabha MP for his achievements. He (Heggade) has carved a niche for himself in religious, social, rural development, health, agriculture, environment conservation, and other fields. He has breathed new air into all these sectors and brought revolutionary changes,” said Kageri, advising the gathering to choose potable water and a sattvic food diet.
Addressing the gathering, Heggade said a Shaurya team has been formed for emergency service and rescue operations in rural areas. It has about 3,000 teams comprising youths. It will be launched by chief minister Basavaraj Bommai soon. As a member of the Rajya Sabha, Heggade said that dairy farming in Bidar will be given a big push. “We have already conducted a survey. Meanwhile, another thousand common service centres will be added to the existing 6,500 centres,” he said.
The kshetra will donate three CT scan machines to three hospitals. Around 365 government schools will be distributed with 2700 benches and desks. At least 100 lakes around the state will be rejuvenated and 40 Shuddaganga potable water purifiers will be installed. The kshetra will grant Rs 47 lakh to set up a solid waste management plant in Ujire. Around Rs 5 crore has been earmarked to construct about 500 houses. The kshetra has already donated Rs 89 crore to 7,312 temples. A 200-bed hospital will come up in Dharwad to help cancer patients. For the convenience of devotees coming to Dharmasthala temple, a queue complex is being constructed and it will be completed in a year, said Heggade, while speaking about the future projects.
