CHENNAI: An unidentified gang of six allegedly hacked two people with knives at Nanmangalam near Pallikaranai and threw petrol bombs at the house of history-sheeter ‘Vellai’ Anand early Sunday morning. Police said the gang had come in search of Anand to finish him off.
The two injured were identified as Kirubakaran, 19, a polytechnic college student and
Manoj Kumar, 21 a private company employee. Both of them refused to divulge details of the history sheeter's house when they were attacked.
The six-member gang came in two motorbikes to Nanmangalam. Once there, they started inquiring about the address of ‘Vellai’ Anand. After locating Anand’s house, the gang allegedly hurled petrol bombs into the house, damaging the doors and windows of the house. No one was injured as nobody was at the house at that time, police said.
Pallikaranai police registered a case and an investigation was launched to identify and nab the culprits.
