Jaipur: With the festive season beginning with Diwali, various government departments and organisations are seting up control rooms in Jaipur with arrangements to tackle untoward incidents that residents may face during the celebrations. Jaipur district collector Prakash Rajpurohit has instructed the departments concerned to start operating the control rooms and ensure the celebrations remain safe.
“Control rooms are being set up for Diwali on October 24, Govardhan Puja on October 25 and Bhaiya Dooj on October 26. In addition, the district collector has given specific instructions to the two municipal corporations, the city police and fire department and also to officials of Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam,” said an official of the district administration.
Rajpurohit has directed the officials of both Jaipur Municipal Corporation - Greater and Municipal Corporation - Heritage to ensure special cleanliness arrangements at all major marketplaces in the city. He had asked them to ensure garbage removal from every nook and corner and to run special cleanliness drives during the festive days.
“Garbage removal is very important for safety and security during festive seasons. It reduces chances of fire and explosions. Additional vehicles and staff are being deployed day and night during this festive season,” added the official.
Rajpurohit has also instructed all the deputy commissioners of police to deploy adequate police personnel to ensure complete security arrangements and a vigilant monitoring system.
Officers of Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam (JVVN) have also been requested to ensure proper power supply so that the city remains illuminated on the days of these festivals.
