The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has made special arrangements for tourists visiting their facilities this Diwali season. The corporation has also made preparations to implement a new concept of winter tourism.
“MTDC has 30 resorts across Maharashtra and more than 95 per cent of the facilities have been booked till November 3,” Deepak Harne, regional manager, MTDC, Pune, told The Indian Express.
Among the various discounts include 20 per cent discount for senior citizens, 10 to 20 per cent for advance bookings for government employees besides special concessions for ex-servicemen and the disabled, and group bookings of more than 20 rooms, Harne said, adding pre-wedding photo shoots and destination weddings are also being facilitated.
“The recent celebration of Kojagiri Poornima at Ajantha, Verul and Lonar in Aurangabad, the tourism capital, is leading to advance reservations for visits to these World Heritage tourist spots,” Managing Director Shraddha Joshi said in an official statement issued here. The Diwali celebrations are being planned under the guidance of MTDC General Manager Chandrasekhar Jaiswal.
MTDC has properties in World Heritage sites and forts of Ajantha, Verul, Daulatabad, Bibi Ka Makbara, Rajgad, Raigad, Janjira and Sindhudurg; beaches at Ganpatipule, Diveagar, Vardeneshwar, Harihareshwar and Tarkarli; sanctuaries at Tadoba, Navegaon, Chikhaldara and Radhanagari; and hill stations at Mahabaleshwar, Matheran, Bhandardara and Lonavla.
