Grassland near Pak border catches fire
Jaisalmer: Different incidents of fire breakouts were reported in Barmer and Jaisalmer on Sunday. The grassland near the Indo-Pak border near Munabao area of Barmer caught fire on Sunday. Dozens of BSF jawan villagers and the team of district administration from Barmer could manage to control the fire that damaged grasslands, fodders of cattle after 4-5 hours.
In the first incident, the grassy land near the international border fencing in Munabao area of Barmer district caught fire due to strong wind. The fire spread fast and reached up to Akli village. 40 to 50 BSF jawans and dozens of villagers helped in controlling the fire. A fire brigade was sent from Barmer.
Additional district collector Ashwini K Panwar said the fire near the border was doused and there has been no loss of life. However, the reasons for the fire are yet to be ascertained, said officials. Another incident of fire was reported in a huge area in Myazlar, 125 km away from Jaisalmer town. TNN
