5 more Assam Police constables held for submitting fake certs

Guwahati: The CID on Sunday arrested five more Assam Police constables, who were recruited in May, for allegedly submitting fake certificates while applying for the posts.
They have been identified as Rupam Bora, Deepjyoti Baruah, Raju Thakur, Mirza Galib and Nitumoni Kalita. This has taken the total such arrests to 16 so far. The CID sources said a case was registered against 414 candidates, whose computer certificates were found to be fake during verification in Dhubri, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Nalbari, Cachar, Hailakandi, Karimganj, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur and Dibrugarh districts of Assam. tnn
