Alef Aeronautics is a California-based 'sustainable' electric transportation company formed in 2015, with the aim to create the world's first flying car! 7 years later, the brand has now unveiled the first prototype of the Alef flying car, confirming that a market launch is expected as soon as 2025.

The company says that its goal is to enable faster, easier commutes and "alleviate the burden of urban congestion thanks to proprietary technology that enables their vehicle to bypass everyday traffic". The prototype can be driven on road, while it can also be used to fly over the traffic. The Alef Model A is claimed to have a driving range of 200 miles (322 km) and a flying range of 110 miles (177 km).
Talking about its design, the Alef flying car has a futuristic flowy shape, but nothing too unorthodox. The Model A will be fitted with the eight propellers housed inside the body itself. The car has enough space for one or two persons at max, but the company aims to build flying cars that can fit more passengers at a later stage.

The company also wants to build a car that will be powered by hydrogen fuel cells, according to Oleg Petrov, another engineer and co-founder. That could have a range of around 400 miles or 644 km, as per Petrov. Coming back to the Model A flying car, the fully-electric vehicle is now available for pre-order for a token amount of $150.
