Andhra Pradesh: Notice to Pawan Kalyan over 3 marriages comment
Women’s panel sees red
VIJAYAWADA: Pawan Kalyan is in the line of fire. The AP Women’s Commission on Saturday issued a notice to Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan asking him to withdraw his comments on three marriages.
The notice was issued by commission chairperson Vasireddy Padma.
The commission in its notice said that Pawan Kalyan’s comments have hurt the sentiments of women as they degrade women.
“Your comments on how you paid alimony for obtaining divorce from two women is giving a negative impression.
“Your comments mean that one can marry multiple times and get divorce by paying alimony. Our marriage system is eternal and no one should get a feeling that they can take divorce and marry others. These comments will have a severe impact on women. You also referred to women as stepney, which is seriously objectionable,” Padma said. She further stated that Pawan should be very careful with his comments as he is a celebrity and his comments can provoke many people.
