Karnataka: Solar eclipse to be celebrated

MANGALURU: Aid Without Religion Trust and Dakshina Kannada Rationalists Association will organise a celebration of solar eclipse at the MCC Swimming Pool compound on Tuesday.
In order to dispel myths, a meeting in the open will be organised, and food will be consumed during the time of the eclipse. "We will have an open-air meeting at 5.30 pm, swimming between 4.45 pm to 5.15 pm, and watch the eclipse and consume food in the open air, under the eclipsed sun," said Narendra Nayak, president, Federation of Indian Rationalist Associations.
In Udupi
Poornaprajna Amateur Astronomers' Club (PAAC) will organise an eclipse viewing programme. PAAC has made several arrangements to view the eclipse safely, for anyone who is interested. Schools, students and the public can join the team at Malpe Beach from 5 pm until sunset on Tuesday. The event is being organised with the support of the Malpe Development Committee.
