BENGALURU: A 29-year-old financier, a devout fan of the late Sandalwood actor Puneeth Rajkumar, died of cardiac arrest on Friday evening after watching the 'Puneeth Parva' programme at Palace Grounds, marking the pre-event release of the actor's 'Gandhada Gudi' on television. The deceased has been identified as Giriraj, a resident of Link Road in Malleswaram limits. According to his family, Giriraj had tried hard to get a pass for the event. Unable to do so, he was watching it live on TV along with his relatives. "He was a die-hard fan of Appu (Puneeth). He had met the actor 2-3 times when he was alive and once was even offered a cup of coffee. As we watched the programme, he burst into tears and was sobbing till late night. However, he collapsed suddenly in the bathroom. Though we rushed him to hospital, doctors declared him dead," Giriraj's father said.tnn
