Ahmedabad: Abandoned by boyfriend, girl dials 181

AHMEDABAD: A 19-year-old girl, who left home to live with a fellow student, was brought home after she sought help from Abhayam 181 women helpline.
The counsellors said that the girl lives in Chandkheda. "She was studying for her graduation and had enrolled for a chartered accountancy course. She liked a fellow student living at CTM. When her parents objected to the relationship and asked her to focus on her studies, she left home and began living with the boyfriend. However, soon problems arose, and the boyfriend asked her to leave," said the counsellor, adding that her parents also refused to allow her back in home.
The officials counselled her and her parents. "The girl promised to focus on her studies and returned home," a counsellor said.
