Rajkot: Factory owner cheated of Rs 65 lakh by couple

RAJKOT: A factory owner in Vavdi area of Rajkot was cheated by a couple, who would up their business in 2019 and failed to clear his outstanding dues of Rs 65.2 lakh for the raw material purchased.
The victim Chirag Amrutiya lodged a complaint with Rajkot Taluka police station against Aashish Saraniya and his wife Nisha. Amrutiya makes copper wires and rods in Vavdi.
The couple had a factory making submersible pumps and they had been Amrutiya's regular customers since 2016 and they were given the raw material on credit by him. The couple started a new factory in 2017 and bought raw material from Amrutiya on cash and credit. However, when they wound up the business in 2019, Rs 65.2 lakh was pending as payment to Amrutiya.
According to the complaint Aashish was buying time by giving various excuses and after sometime he disappeared by giving the entire charge of his business to his wife. When Amrutiya met his wife and demanded his money, his wife had allegedly asked Amrutiya to forget the money.
