Bursting of firecrackers only from 8pm to 10pm

Thiruvananthapuram: In the bid to reduce environmental pollution, the state government has restricted bursting of firecrackers during Diwali celebrations to between 8pm and 10pm.
An order in this regard has been issued by the home department in view of an order of the National Green Tribunal.
For Christmas and New Year celebrations, the timings will be between 11:55pm and 12:30am.
Direction has also been issued to use only firecrackers that keep green protocol.
District collectors and police chiefs have been directed to ensure that only such firecrackers are sold in their respective districts. tnn
