SHIVAMOGGA: Hindu Mahasabha leader Vinayak Damodar 'Veer' Savarkar's grandson Satyaki Savarkar attended 'Savarkar Samrajya', a public event, here on Saturday. Addressing the gathering, Satyaki said his family, after working to get freedom to the country, is striving for equality. "I'm thankful to the people of Shivamogga for spreading the legacy of Savarkar," he added.
Former minister K S Eshwarappa said that no one dares to touch Savarkar's banner now. "Popular Front of India (PFI) has been banned after it tore the flex and banners across the state," he added.
Security was beefed up in the city following a bike rally ahead of the event at Government Science College ground. Hundreds of people participated in the commemorative event.
