CM Yogi Adityanath announced a motorcycle allowance of Rs 500 per month to non-gazetted police personnel and facility of e-pension portal on the occasion on Friday, reports Pathikrit Chakraborty.

He made the announcement at Reserve Police Lines here. Lauding UP Police for maintaining law and order, Yogi said, "It is the result of UP's zero tolerance against crime and criminals and the contribution of brave cops that no criminals are roaming free. They are either in prison or have been killed."
Saluting the courage, valour and dedication of brave police personnel, Yogi Adityanath said, “Maintenance of rule of law in the state, ensuring peaceful celebration of every festival and safer environment for women, weaker sections, traders and the common man is a feat,” he said.
The CM discontinued Rs 200 per month cycle allowance to the police personnel by providing Rs 500 motorcycle allowance. He also dedicated the facility of the epension portal to the policemen. Yogi also announced the approval of reimbursement of medical expenses of more than Rs 5 lakh from the level of director general of police for the convenience of the policemen.
“Till now, such a system was addressed at the home department which caused an unnecessary delay. Now, no delays will take place,” said the CM. During the event, Yogi said, “Drawing great inspiration from the Gita, our brave soldiers have made their supreme sacrifice to maintain the external and internal security of the country and the state.”
Saluting the martyrs, the CM assured the dependents of the martyred policemen that the government would extend all possible help to them with utmost sensitivity. The CM said that the entire police force of the state is proud of the valour of these heroes who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
“By setting a unique example of patriotism and sacrifice, these brave policemen will always inspire our future generation to follow the path of duty with fearlessness. Their sacrifice is a testament to their true dedication and devotion, commitment to duty and public service,” said the CM. “In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, the state police force had presented a perfect example of humanity.
During the pandemic, a compensation of Rs 22.5 crore and jobs were given to the families of 45 policemen who lost their lives to the virus. Besides, assistance amounting to Rs 142 crore was given to the dependents of 581 martyrs of UP origin serving in Central Para Military Forces, Indian Army among others,” said the CM.
The CM said that while taking strict action against the criminals, assets worth Rs 4,440 crore have been attached. “Schools for girls and houses for the poor are being constructed on such properties,” he said.
