Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party has decided to challenge the Election Commission of Pakistan's verdict in Toshakhana case. The ECP ruled that Imran Khan is no longer a member of the National Assembly, and also barred him from holding public office. Imran Khan allegedly sold gifts from foreign dignitaries and heads of state ‘unlawfully’, reported Geo News. Khan was accused of misusing his 2018 to 2022 premiership to buy and sell gifts in state possession that were received during his foreign visits. The gifts included premium watches given by a royal family which were allegedly sold by Khan's aides in Dubai. The gifts were worth over 140 million Pakistani rupees ($635,000). PTI leaders Asad Umar, Shafqat Mehmood took to Twitter to slam the verdict. The ruling has triggered unrest in Pakistan as PTI supporters took to the streets in different cities in protest.
