Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Friday at 10:55AM

Mawana Sugars(up 2.09%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.88%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 1.79%), MAGADHSUGAR(up 1.28%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(up 1.19%), Ugar Sugar Works(up 1.11%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(up 0.82%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(up 0.76%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.66%) and Simbhaoli Sugars(up 0.51%) were among the top gainers.

EID Parry(down 3.10%), Shree Renuka Sugars(down 2.85%), Sakthi Sugars(down 2.73%), & Industries(down 2.58%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 2.21%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(down 1.33%), KCP Sugar & Industries(down 0.44%), DCM Shriram Industries(down 0.26%) and Balrampur Chini Mills(down 0.10%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 72.5 points up at 17636.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 277.87 points at 59480.77 at around 10:55AM.

Axis Bank(up 5.94%), State Bank of India(up 1.75%), Hindustan Unilever(up 1.69%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 1.59%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.54%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.5%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.45%), SBI Life(up 1.38%), ICICI Bank(up 1.38%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.15%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finance(down 1.78%), Eicher Motors(down 1.35%), JSW Steel(down 1.16%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.89%), Asian Paints(down 0.88%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.73%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.73%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.62%), HDFC(down 0.54%) and Tata Steel(down 0.5%) were trading in the red.
