Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.25% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:10AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.89 per cent), Alembic Pharmaceuticals(up 0.78 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(up 0.53 per cent), Cipla(up 0.49 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 0.48 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Divis Laboratories(down 0.63 per cent), Laurus(down 0.48 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(down 0.47 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(down 0.46 per cent) and Gland Pharma(down 0.45 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.25 per cent at 13121.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 73.5 points at 17637.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 296.31 points at 59499.21.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, , , Zomato Ltd. and Axis Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tips Films Ltd., , , and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Delhivery Ltd., Piramal Pharma Ltd., , and C&C Construct hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
