Row brewing over Gujarat University recruitment process

AHMEDABAD: There’s a controversy brewing in Gujarat University (GU) after the administration started the process of recruitment on various positions that have been lying vacant for a long time.
On October 13, the university invited applications for 46 posts of teachers for various subjects and administrative staff positions in 26 categories such as chief accountant officer, librarian, university engineer, civil engineer, PA to registrar and the assistant registrar’s posts.
The highest number of positions are of junior clerks. The university will recruit 92 junior clerks. Sources said that for some positions, the university will conduct competitive exams while for others the administration will organize direct interviews. The university criteria for the position of junior clerks is postgraduate degree with minimum 55%. TNN
